Metal cases are used for general applications in oil or grease and are made of carbon steel. Besides this, it is also used in special applications such as sealing sea water for corrosive fluids for gases. For such purposes, it is of stainless steel construction. They are also available in other metal case like aluminum case, brass case based on customers' specific applications and requirements.

Our housing bores are recommended to be used in rubber covered and metal O.D seals for steel and cast iron, soft alloy, aluminum alloy, plastic or nylon.

BORE CHAMFER :

In order to assist installation of the seal, a bore chamber is necessary. The absence or improper installation of chamfer will distort seal case and would lead to more assembly force craving.


Bore Dimensional Tolerances
In order to ensure proper fit of oil seals, it is recommended that the dimensions of bore are within the tolerances listed below. Our seals are made to satisfy tight size specifications. Seals O.D are normally .04" to .010" (.10mm to .25mm) larger than the seal bore size.
